This story started by driven, hard-working, animal lovers with natural talents in the animal care industry. Starting smaller, Prairie Peak Kennels is the first location that opened in 2013 and is located just North of Alexandria, MN. After 5 years of consecutive growth, Fetchers in Fargo was then born from more driven and passionate team members who opened the new South Fargo location in 2018 with a vision of keeping dogs active within the city. Dogs at Fetchers are able to exercise, play, and socialize in large groups both indoors and outside because we understand dog behavior and pack leadership and we have built a custom state of the art facility for your dogs benefit! We also address more than physical exercise, we identified that we can provide mental stimulation and emotional care to your dog as well. Through training and daycare enrichment services, all dog types are being funneled through our business model to satisfy each of their unique needs. Beyond dogs, we also understand our feline community needs our help. From long term viable boarding options where your cat will appreciate daily physical and mental stimulation while away, to addressing common behavioral issues many feel helpless and unable to address. We can provide full service felline care. We are constantly striving to create a fun, active, and stimulating experience for your pet. The Fetchers story continues with the amazing team we have that gives your pet the highest care possible. From the owner to the newest member of the team, as one we grow together as a team. Our team includes professional dog trainers, licensed vet techs, computer techs, professional handlers, feline behaviorists, nutritionists, and much more. Even though I have always felt I had a handle on our pets over the years, when I brought home two these two English Cream retriever brothers, I was not ready for the challenge that came with them. At all.
Besides seeing me as their human chew-toy, Louie swollowed 2 toys (whole) and required 2 surgeries to remove them. Henri had a hematoma the size of a large egg on top of skull from tumbling down concrete steps, wrestling with his brother - also requiring veterinary care. They were becoming celebrities at Casselton Vet Clinic for all of the wrong reasons. Every day was honestly an over-the-top struggle and my relationship with these two beautiful pups was suffering terribly.
Madee and I chose the 4 week stay-training for these two hoodlums, and hands down (including every single cent it cost) it was the right decision! She quickly estabalished respect, gave solid boundaries while challenging their ever-growing curiosities and need to learn. It was the right balance for them to grow and begin to be welcomed socially into situations without taking the whole place down.
After they graduated, I took Madee up on a follow-up home visit and this was the icing on the cake! It helped tighten everything up and answered all of those little questions that I still had once we were home. We look forward to continuing this relationship as they grow with Madee and Fetchers.
