Gain significant and lasting progress with a Board and Train service

During Board and Train programs your dog will be at Fetchers continually, working with our Professional Dog Trainer in a structured environment on the training goals that were discussed. Your dog will be fully immersed into a structured lifestyle before, during and after each session. Obedience is our way of life and your pup will live it! This enables dogs to start to speak the language of obedience much faster, easier, and more efficiently. Each week dogs show exponential progress from the week past ultimately up to pickup day. On pickup day we will show you what we have done, how we have done it, and give you the leash to begin leading your dog effectively and enjoying their obedience like you've always wanted.

Will you miss your pup? Visits and weekend pickups(with homework) are available by request!

The Foundation

Requirements

1) Dogs must be under 12 months in age

2) Dogs must not have any major anxiety problems

3) Dogs must not be human/dog aggressive

This program is for your dog to get a solid foundation of obedience and cooperation to your commands and leadership.
We will help teach all family members how to achieve the success we will demonstrate with your dog.
We will fully condition prong and e collar tools to aid in proper communication.
We will curb unwanted behaviors such as jumping, biting/nipping, whining, and leash pulling.
During a three week board and train, your dog will learn:
- Sit, Down, Place, Kennel, Yes, & No
- On leash obedience
- Off leash obedience
- Exposure to new environments
- Command difficulty adding distance, duration, and distractions
- Introduction to pack play
- Calm behaviors in and outside of the kennel
- Proper socialization to people and dogs

Requirements

1) For stubborn dogs 6 mo+ or dogs over 1 yr of age.

2) Dogs must not have any major anxiety problems

3) Dogs must not be human/dog aggressive

This program is for your dog to get a solid foundation of obedience and cooperation to your commands and leadership.
We will help teach all family members how to achieve the success we will demonstrate with your dog.

2) Owners must schedule a $30 meet and greet to determine the final training plan.

This program provides your dog extra time and patience as the trainer works at your dogs pace through their unhealthy thought processes and fears.
We will discover triggers to unhealthy thinking and behaviors and develop a program that can be adopted by your family.
We will begin the program ourselves in addition to the obedience program and make adjustments as needed to ensure a smooth transition to your home.
Common anxiety issues:
- Kennel anxiety
- Stranger danger
- Loud noises and quick movements
- Other dogs
- Reactivity on / off leash
- Vet trips
- Car rides
- Rehoming or other past trauma
An example of some objectives that could be part of your dogs program
- Neutrality during triggering events and structured play time.
- Trained down or place when trigger presents.
- Redirecting and reaffirming your ability to be an effective leader.
- Crate training for dogs that break out of kennels.
- Loose leash walking where otherwise lunging and barking.

An example of some objectives that could be part of your dogs program
- Neutrality in all situations and structured play time
- Feeding and handling desensitization where otherwise aggressive/resource guarding
- Loose leash walking where otherwise lunging and barking
- Redirecting and reaffirming your ability to be an effective leader.
- Public area training to proof new behaviors and build confidence.
- Crate training to help avoid trigger situations in the home.
- Proofing down and place on and off leash for longer durations and more distractions and distances off leash
- Proper muzzle conditioning.

All Board and Trains will include:

Treat pouch
Small bag of treats
A one hour go home lesson, 3-4 weeks and 1.5hrs for anxiety or aggression.
Weekly updates
A one hour follow up training session in home or at the facility
Free "Follow Ups" either via phone, text, or in person after going home to ensure the transition back home goes as smoothly as possibly
Hands-on handling and relationship building between the owners and their dog

Requirements

6+ months old (in-tact dogs, in-heat females, and all breeds allowed)
Please budget for the cost of a high quality e collar($169) and prong collar($32). Various high quality options to be purchased at Fetchers. If you are considering hiring us but are unsure about e-collar training tools or want to learn more please call us.
A non refundable training ticket will be sold to hold your spot. 1 hr sessions are prepaid at $120 and are non refundable.
Vaccination records showing current rabies, distemper and bordetella to be emailed over to prior to reservation.

What To Bring

Bring – Food (or we have some for $3-$5/day), fitted flat collar (or we provide one for $3/day), and a leash.
Don’t bring – Bowls, raw hides, kennels
Optional – toys, bed, blankets, chewing treats, or anything to make your dog’s stay more comfortable.
